Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 1st May 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Online Dentist UK service and website. By accessing our platform or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

About Us
Online Dentist UK is an online dental consultation and prescription service. We provide private, online consultations with dentists and issue prescriptions when clinically appropriate for dental emergencies.

Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use this service.
You must be located within the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland).

Online Consultation and Prescription Service
We offer a free online consultation to assess whether antibiotics are clinically appropriate for your dental emergency.
Each consultation is reviewed by a GDC-registered UK dentist.
Antibiotics are not suitable for all dental issues and are prescribed only when clinically justified.
Our dentists follow a strict protocol when reviewing consultations.
Our dentists reserve the right not to prescribe antibiotics if they are clinically inappropriate, or if the information provided is inadequate or inaccurate.
You understand that this is an online remote consultation and not a face-to-face consultation. It is based solely on the information you provide.
An online consultation does not constitute a full clinical dental examination.
The use of our service does not establish a formal dentist–patient relationship.
We cannot issue prescriptions for medications such as pain relief, sedatives, or any non-antibiotic treatments.
We do not issue prescriptions for controlled or restricted substances as defined by UK law.
If a prescription is issued, a fee of £19.95 will be charged. If no prescription is issued, you will not be charged.
In some cases, you may be advised to seek further in-person evaluation, emergency dental care, contact 999 or visit your nearest A&E department.
You acknowledge that this is a remote consultation service and may not allow for a complete clinical diagnosis. Antibiotics may offer only temporary relief and do not address the underlying cause of infection. You are advised to seek in-person dental care for a full examination and appropriate treatment.

Payment Terms
You will only be charged if a prescription is issued.
The £19.95 prescription fee does not include the cost of medication, which must be paid to the pharmacy.
We recommend checking the cost of the medication with your chosen pharmacy before it is dispensed, as prices may vary.
The cost of medication depends on the type and formulation prescribed. For example, oral suspensions (liquid antibiotics) may cost more than tablet forms. Prices are set by individual pharmacies and may vary.
Payment is processed securely via our payment provider, Stripe.
Refunds are not offered once a prescription is issued.
Refunds cannot be offered once medication has been dispensed. This is due to regulations preventing the resale of returned medication.

Your Responsibilities as a User

You will seek medical attention if you experience side effects or your condition worsens.
You understand that antibiotics only treat symptoms and do not eliminate the source of infection.
You will still need to visit a dentist in person for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
You acknowledge that decisions are based on the information you provide and any incorrect or incomplete responses could impact your care.
You accept that once a prescription is issued or medication is dispensed, it cannot be refunded.

If you provide inaccurate or misleading information, this may affect your safety and treatment outcome.
If you exhibit signs of sepsis or a spreading infection, you should call 999 or attend A&E immediately.
We follow antimicrobial stewardship best practices and prescribe antibiotics only when clinically necessary.
